Luxman turntables
PD-151 MkII turntable
This has a revised new tonearm as the original one from the mkI was discontinued. It still features the distinctive curved shape which matches the retro look of the turntable. The main difference is in the bearing design but still retains a detachable head shell for those that might want to use two different cartridges. The sound of this turntable matches its exemplary build quality that is unique to Luxman. It offers a truly high end sound. Extremely solid and rigid chassis assisted by the thick billet aluminium top plate. The belt driven platter is also made from heavy gauge aluminium, and the speed change is easily done via the front button. A high quality acrylic hinged cover is included as standard. We have heard no influence on the sound of the turntable with or without this cover, park up or lowered down. A further endorsement of Luxman's engineers attention to detail.
The combination with their exceptional LMC-5 moving coil cartridge is one that is hard to beat at up to £10,000.

PD-191A turntable
The flagship PD-191 has now been launched with upgrades over the PD-151 MkII, including:
- An improved, longer, 10-inch arm with knife-edge bearing
- A heavier and better damped platter
- Improved damping to the chassis
- Upgraded motor with larger power supply
- Cryogenically-treated internals
- A rosewood-stained, solid natural wood front panel with a beautiful glossy finish, which contrasts beautifully with the hairline-finished aluminum top panel
We have been impressed with our initial listen. We will do further listening tests in due course and will update the website further.
The PD-191A is available now for £10,999 without cartridge
