Luxman L100 Centennial Class-A amplifier

Luxman L100C

Luxman has launched their L-100 Centennial Class A integrated amplifier to mark 100 years in the business.

The L-100 Centennial amplifier is a Class-A integrated amplifier offering 20wpc of Class-A power at 8 ohms and 40wpc at 4 ohms. This is the only solid-state, class-A, integrated amplifier in their portfolio. It was Class-A that made Luxman famous many years ago, hence they have vast experience on how to design and voice amplifiers of this type. Class-A designs tend to be richer in tone and have a very natural flow to the music, that just sounds right.

Despite the low output power declared, a very conservative value, this Class-A amplifier from Luxman will drive real world speakers with ease. There no requirement to partner with highly sensitive loudspeakers.

It features Luxman’s new LIFES 1.1 feedback engine, designed to give the low distortion of a feedback design, with the musicality of a non-feedback design, giving the best of both worlds.

This amplifier has all of the usual Luxman visual cues from the loop-less chassis, to the familiar meters which they are known for. A custom in-house developed potentiometer and in-house manufactured power supplies ensure a refined and 3-dimensional performance. We were disappointed to see the two older Class-A amps discontinued but very happy that Luxman have now re-introduced a solid-state, Class-A product as part of their Centennial collection.

Luxman offers some of the most refined delivery, with 3-dimensional sound-stages. They also offer incredible build quality, as well as reliability, constructed by people who really care.

We are in the process of running this unit in currently and will add our listening impressions to the product page on our website in due course. We are very excited by this prospect.
