We will be exhibiting at the forthcoming UK Audio Show 2019 at Woodland Grange, Leamington Spa, the weekend of 21 and 22 September. We will be playing a high quality 2-channel audio system using both vinyl and digital replay as sources, and showcasing the new DS Audio entry level optical cartridge, the DS-E1, as well as illustrating the effectiveness of the Audiodesksysteme ultrasonic vinyl cleaner. We will also be comparing CD replay with digital files.
We can be found in the Room 6 situated on the Ground Floor. For more information please follow this link:
The new Audiodesksysteme PRO 2019 ultrasonic vinyl cleaner will be on display with upgraded top plate to make it easier to use, quieter fans and the ability to clean 7" singles. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear the improvements by cleaning a LP of their own and hear the very positive effect of this, not only with a used LPs but also to brand new and previously cleaned LPs. There will be limited times when we can demonstrate the benefits of this ultrasonic cleaner as we need to allow other components to be played through the audio system being used.
We will showcase the new entry level optical cartridge from DS Audio the DS-E1. The cartridge will be mounted in a Clearaudio Innovation turntable and arm. This cartridge has its own version of a phone stage, an equaliser, and the total package retails for £2500. A very different take on the long-established cartridge design offering an exceptional sound at this price.
Being very keen still on physical discs for optimal sound from digital formats, we will be using the Hegel Mohican CD player. This is a purist design and plays nothing but Red Book CDs exceedingly well. The high level of sound quality for its price (£3900) and can hold its own with competing players that cost 2 or 3 times as much.
We will demonstrate streaming by using the Innuos Zenith Mk 3 from both its internal SSD hard drive and from subscription services. After auditioning many of the foremost brands for streaming we have settled on Innuos and AVM as two that provide a sound quality close to that achievable with a conventional CD. The Zenith Mk 3 offers ease of use, excellent component count and build quality, and clearly a superlative sound at £3999.
The amplification will feature two new integrated amplifiers: the AVM Ovation A 6.3 and the Hegel H390, both their own custom designed DACs incorporated to allow for streaming. These offer true high-end sound at their respective price points of £10500 (A 6.3) and £4900 (H390).
The speakers will be from the exemplary Kudos Titan range. We shall be using the T606, a reasonably compact floor standing model which offers precise imaging, very tight, extended bass from the isobaric loading from the bass drivers, exceptional soundstaging and speed at the price of £9900.
The equipment support and chassis resonance control will be from Harmonic Resolution Systems, with a background in vibration control in the aerospace industry, they are world renowned for producing the lowest noise floors. The innovatively designed RXR frame and the new entry level bases the E1 Base, offer a more affordable entry point to their range.
All signal cables and power cords will be from the Canadian company GutWire Cables. These feature an extremely dense screen design and ultra-high quality, solder-free connectors. This results in very low noise, negligible colouration with no hint of compression, and one of the largest and realistic soundstages we have heard.
Room acoustics will be controlled with the Acustica Applicata DAAD acoustic devices and will feature their Volcano and the new Halifax, both innovative products designed to control the turbulent energy effects that occur between loudspeakers.
There will be special offers for orders of certain items ordered at the show. These will include the Audiodesksysteme PRO cleaner, HRS components including the Nimbus Assemblies, Vortex and Damping Plates, and GutWire Cables, particularly the exceptionally effective Ground Cables.
